2016 has been a crazy year. It saw the Brexit vote, the election of Donald Trump, the Ghost Ship fire (and resulting crack down on DIY spaces), and more than 1000 deaths at the hands of US police officers. It is with great pleasure that I will be focusing this 2016 on something unrelated: the highs and lows of Liber Neglecta.

Dumah, Angel of Silence

Originally intended as a tribute to Neil Gaiman’s depiction of Dumah in The Sandman, this post took on a life of its own when I started integrating the character into the world and politics of In Nomine (especially when you consider that all creation is a Symphony).

Top Historic Post

Ogden McNally’s Journal

The longevity of this post speaks to the effectiveness of The Mysterious Package Company’s interactive fictions. It is enough to tempt me into signing up for one myself (my first exposure was a gift).

In demon lore, Lucifuge is either the head of government in hell (In Nomine fills that post with Asmodeus) or the head of the realm of labyrinths and riddles (In Nomine gives this duty to Alaemon). I have instead styled him as the Prince of Pride: one of 8 demons associated with the deadly sins.

Most Searched Demon

Kobal, Impudite Prince of Dark Humor

I have a love/hate relationship with Kobal. His original appearance in demon lore had him acting as a stage manager rather than a comedian (something worth keeping in mind when trying to figure out how to present the Demon Prince in your own games).

Top Angel

Azrael, Archangel of Death

I introduced Azrael to give an example of a Grigori Archangel (yes, yes, in angel lore Grigori and Archangels are two entirely different choirs; this is In Nomine). Sandalphon ran him a close second. See Azrael in the Angelarium.

Most Searched Angel

Sandalphon, The Fastest Angel in Heaven

Sandalphon was one of my first contributions to Liber Neglecta, and his page has been a popular destination ever since it went live. He almost got edged out Andrealphus as the Archangel of Love.

Thank you for your continued feedback. There were times this year when I considered giving up on this blog. Your interest kept me going.
