Your humble archivist is gearing up to run a game for the first time in years. We’re still in character creation, but don’t be surprised if you start seeing themes, stories, world building, and NPCs from the game making their way here.
What I can tell you is that it’ll be an infernal game in which demons are allowed to behave badly (which is often not my default).
Although the party is still in flux, it looks it will include the following:
- One of Nybbas’ Punishers
- One of Furfur’s Takers
- One of the Free Lilim
The players are agreed that their characters do not actually need to get along, but I am encouraging them to at least pretend at the start.
While you’re thinking up game mechanics, out of morbid curiosity, assuming Valak (The Defiler cherub/nun from conjering movie series) Vapula, and Baal decided to harass neutral parties like Ralph, a coyote stark styled Prince of apathy, Titivillis, the demonic merchant or demiurge who is owed favors from nearly every denzien of hell, and the Ahkash Meinkilla the manic pixie dream girl who I see as more of an abridged series Twilight Sparkle/Lyra heartstrings styled librarian with the power of snark, or you know ‘just’ private investigation characters whose powers border on the mundane…with access to the demonic equivalent of akashic records (something like the index librorium prohibitorem or the CIA/NSA/FBI criminal database). How would they go about not only restoring their reputation but tell the the big bad bosses to go F**k themselves. So far I’ve imagined a Loki vs Dr. Strange styeld ending with Baal being turned into Cozi Glow or the three Baddies being turned into the Pink Berets from Hop as a sort of silly ending. But, I’m sure you can come up with a more wickedly absurd sort of scenario.
I’ll have to do a bit of code switching here as I have focused on very different aspects of these characters (with some being different characters entirely)
Valac – Raider of Heaven
Titivilus – Demon of Typoes
Ahkash Meinkilla – Demon of the Nightmare of Mediocrity

Anyway, I tend to dislike endings that result in the complete neutralization of Princes and Archangels unless I’ve already worked out who their replacements will be (or what will happen as a result of the power vacuum created by their absence).
Given the protagonists you’ve listed, I’d probably just make it so that the big baddies stopped caring about the protagonists (possibly due to massive errors that keep cropping up in their records & orders).
If you want the big metaphorical spank down, maybe something that either side does catches the attention of Asmodeus, and his investigation (aided by Ahkash Meinkilla) turns of the paper trail (falsified by Titivilus) which is used to officially sanction the antagonists and vindicate the protagonists.
I would assume that Asmodeus would be able to pick out Titivilus’ tampering, but not care (possibly due to Ralph, possibly because he gains some personal advantage by taking Baal, Valac, and Vapula down a peg). Life goes on, but the PCs now owe Asmodeus a sizable favor.
