  1. So you mentioned other that there are other demons that could be sponsored for the word of gluttony but what are the ones that are named in the actual rulebooks?

    • Did I? I don’t actually recall that (though I definitely agree with it).

As far as In Nomine canon is concerned Haagenti is the one and only (though Canzonetta, head of the Fangs, might certainly make a play for the Princedom).

In larger demon lore, both Belphegor and Beelzebub have been associated with the sin of Gluttony. Beelzebub already has a place within In Nomine canon, but Belphegor is basically a blank slate.

Manna is the angel of food, Isda the angel of nourishment, and Sangariah the angel of fasts. I’d rather keep all three of them as angels, but any one of them could be an alternate Gluttony if you chose to have them fall.

Haagenti was Kobal’s pick for the word, but other princes might have backed a demon with a different outlook. Belial (assuming he could be kept from killing a potential new prince) would likely endorse a demon who focuses on consumption. Andrealphus would probably back a contender who focused on need and hedonism. Saminga’s pick would most likely have focused on slaughter for food. Mammon’s pick would have favored hording and savoring food, and using it as a status symbol. All four would still have ended up close to Haagenti, but the outlooks would be different.

    • Oh! You’re referring to the Demon Princes blurb.

That does come from Canon. The Impudite Carniel held the word of Gluttony before Haagenti got it. He was a servitor of Greed. The books do not indicate how he met his end.

      • So i’m just wondering what changes you would recommend for a gluttony prince based on the hedonistic need to consume food (for the light-hearted game) & the killing of animals for food (for the dark fantasy), without having to create an entirely new superior.

      • I would change how I play Haagenti and how I present him to the group – but I wouldn’t change the mechanics at all.
