Vörös is one of the very oldest Angels of Jordi. In the beginning they were a Domination who liaised with Eli and Novalis to ensure that the biological systems of the newly created world would feed and support the animals who were to be Jordi’s charge.

When the demons broke from heaven, Vörös took the vows of a Malakite, but did not abandon Sheretzim (things which swarm) for Chayyah (wild beasts of the earth). Vörös Dagály’s specific task is protecting the oceans by encouraging bivalves and mollusks and zooplankton to eat massive algea blooms (red tides). And for millennia Vörös hunted the demons of the deep alongside the Malakim of Water. After Oannes death and the sundering of the Cathedral of Water, Vörös became something of a loner whose connection with heaven gradually diminished.

I was a little nervous to write this post at first – it’s very easy for transposed letter jokes to turn into ableist humor.

However, there’s a particularly clever exchange based on the Santa -> Satan transposition in which there is no confusion; Satan just refuses to back down from being a gift giver because he’s standing on ceremony.

The name of Satan was invoked, and Satan intends to deliver.

Adventure Hook, In Nomine, Soldier, The Hu

A previously reliable Soldier has gone rogue.

She is not working for heaven. She is not working for hell. She does not stand beside others. She is instead using her impressive array of skills and songs to look after hre own fortunes.

Digging will reveal that she recently came into possession of a lupine fetish (and the spirit of individualism within has come into possession of her). Should either side attempt to retrieve or recruit the Solder or her new Ethereal Patron, the pair shall use all means at their disposal to remain free.

Adventure Hook, Burning Peppermints, Dominic, In Nomine, Seraph

The PC’s have broken heaven’s rules for the last time. Whether or not they deserve in, the party has come to the attention of a determined and belligerent Seraph of Dominic who is convinced that one or more of them must be sinners deserving of heaven’s punishment.

Those who have come to Dominic’s attention previously might wonder why their interrogator is acting outside a trinity. If this question comes up, the Seraph will state that they are elsewhere or that they are otherwise occupied.

However, if they players do some digging of their own they may realize that their interrogator has been putting in extra hours, roughing up every angel in the area who has ever committed a transgression, no matter how small or how long ago.

The reason is simple enough – the Seraph is itself dissonant and is covering up its own fear and dysphoria with ever greater anger, desperately hoping that a surprise bust could offset some if the unexpected celestial deafness it’s dissonant behavior has brought about.

A new product has recently hit the market: red lemonade. It tastes like lemon-cherry cordial, but has the curious property of being able to satisfy the need of any vampire. The brewer is a retired clergyman and one time Soldier of Creation, their hope is that by calming the blood addiction of vampires they might be able to bring them back to the light.

Of course, the hunt is now on for this altruistic veteran of The War. Hell has its own ideas of what to do with a serum that can counteract one of the main vampiric shortcomings.

As the end of time approaches, some demons have begun to work more in the open. For example, there is an exclusive, high end supper club where demons of gluttony have put themselves on the menu.

Entry to the club is exclusive and expensive enough that most Angels won’t even make it through the front door (assume status 6 or 5 with a good fast talk and sizable bribe for entry). Those who order from the VIP menu (which lists the performers by name) pay an additional price. Those who knowingly eat such infernal meat will become hellsworn (the full terms are in the menu, though phrased like a marketing gimmick).

In addition, the sous chef is a Lilim, so on the night’s she runs the kitchen she can impose geases on everyone who dines.

Repeat diners may even gain a bonus force – either becoming a Soldier of Gluttony or else eventually unraveling into so much dead meat (though this usually takes long enough that they cannot become dessert).

Adventure Hook, Grimes, In Nomine, Malakite, Soldier

A Soldier of Heaven was recently captured by the forces of hell and a blackwing of The War has landed in town and is insisting that a group of local angels (most likely the party) join them in a raid on a local demon tether.

Demons who get in the way, they kill, angels who refuse to help they maim.

A Soldier of Heaven recently mounted an unauthorized raid on a local demon establishment. The local infernals are in a tizzy over the damage he caused, and no might be a good time to make some headway on angelic causes, but the Soldier himself has gone missing.

Any attempt to investigate the whereabouts of the missing Soldier will reveal that he has been courting a new paramour with infernal ties. It should not be immediately apparent if the new love interest is himself a soldier, or in fact a demon.

Either way, the new lover is anticipating angelic interference and has laid a few traps of his own should one of the Angels rush in after their missing Soldier.

Adventure Hook, Habbalite, Hazbin Hotel, In Nomine, Lilim

If you haven’t heard of Hazbin Hotel, I suggest that you put it on your media radar – but while we wait for Vivienne Medrano to come out with her wickedly well animated series there’s no reason why the rest of us can’t have fun with her premise:

Somewhere on Earth or in Hell, a demon has opened a half-way house for repentant souls. Most likely a Habbalah or Lilim.

Questions to ask yourself when setting up your hotel for renegades:

  • Who is backing the project?
  • Who runs the hotel itself?
  • How do they get word out to demons in need of their help?
  • How have they kept Asmodeus from shutting them down?
  • How will the hotel come to the attention of the party?

Adventure Hook, Human, In Nomine, Murder, Soldier, The Police

A serial killer is loose in the party’s town. The local police have not noticed the pattern yet, but the party has: all the victims are Soldiers in The War.

The specifics are left to the GM. While it could certainly be a Shedite or Malakite at play, it’s also entirely possible that it’s a normal (if exceptional) human who has chosen to take matters into their own hands.
