Over the weekend I discussed how Alaemon is probably missing and presumed dead, and that Vapula has most likely advanced the technocratic demon Saratael as the administrator most likely to set that rats nest of competing interests and misinformation in order without completely undermining it’s mission.

To an outsider Saratael might seem somewhat laissez faire, but this is simply due to the fact that a Principality, even a small one like Secrets, is so far beyond the administrative of any one lesser demon. Those who deal with Saratael directly will realize that he is a complete control freak on the level of the Red Queen from Through the Looking Glass.

He has to be.

Amitiel was once the Angel of Truth, right hand of Metatron, and advisor to the one true Lord. Then he smote her and her sister Peace for speaking out against the creation of man. Now Amitiel is a burnt and bitter old snake whose raw skin is patchwork of char and scar.

The mortal world far to painful for the old soul to tolerate, so she sits upon the Bench of The Game as the voice of Vindication; the word Lucifer bestowed upon the Balseraph once mankind showed itself to be just as inimical to the Symphony as the one-time angel had predicted.

Moira, Demon of Chronophobia

Moira is the illegitimate child of Beleth, Kronos, and an old Liar who was destroyed to provide the bulk of her forces. She most often appears as a woman of middle or old age who may have been beautiful once, but who has clearly lost her luster.

Moira is marshal over the Nightmares of missed opportunity, old age, deadlines, the passage of time, and what the future may bring, but she chooses to serve as a commander under the Demon of Dread rather than accept her own fated future as a Duchess of Nightmares.

Megidophon, General of The Final Battleground

It is well known that Baal anticipates having his final showdown with Michael after the 7th trumpet sounds. That fight itself is supposed to settle the last battle. However, Baal is neither a prophet nor a fool: he knows that fortold encounters do not always play out as expected, and so someone will be leading the armies of hell when Baal finally faces off with his old friend.

Megidophon is that someone.

Jokers, Jesters, and Comedians

Jokers, Jesters, and Comedians are each used as synonym for Kobalite.

While I have no problem with using the terms in this way, I do think it’s worth considering how the politics of In Nomine and the etymology of each term makes them distinct from each other – and what these differences might say about the Wordbound to hold each term.

A few hundred years ago, Kobal hit on the idea of creating a new history of the world as a joke. To make his production work, though, he would need props – lots of props, many of them hidden so that when mankind found them it would be by their own efforts and not infernal providence.

One of Kobal‘s first officially chartered families is most comonly known by the pseudonym of House Drouxmed in an effort to avoid confusion or equivocation. However, when asked, the members of this prestigious family will proudly proclaim that they are members of No House.

Though each member of No House ultimately does their own thing, the family is best known for producing “cleaners” who use sophistry, wordplay, and character assassinations to downplay or hide the existence of heaven and hell.

What About Trump

Today is Donald Trump’s last full day as president, though not necessarily his last day being active in the United States political sphere. Even before the January 6 insurrection in the capitol he was easily the most controversial president in most of our lifetimes. He is simultaneously viewed by some as god’s servant on earth and by others as the most publicly an inveterate liar to ever hold the highest office in the United States. Both of these would merit him a place within an In Nomine cosmology, but what role that is would be almost diametrically opposed depending on which outlook you share.

Malidole, A Fallen Seraph

Stolen… it was stolen – there can be no other explanation. Illegal votes, rampant corruption, locked out poll workers – it’s only natural that after four years the beast would try to protect itself but Malidole’ had not realized how far Nybbas lies had spread. Even faithful Soldiers of Heaven had begun to share the deceit, if only to save their own necks. Traitors, all of them – they deserve to die.

Feverishly the most high searches for someone with the truth, but with the false quarantine, everything was passing through The Media these days. That said, Malidole has a contact – a Lilim, unfortunately. Can’t be trusted… but she’s promised to show him how deep The Conspiracy goes. That’s fine enough, she can speak all she wants, Malidole still has his heavenly gift. If she lies, he’ll just show her the error of her ways with his heavenly resonance.
